MaxiJet Modification
If you'll take 10 minutes and a couple of common tools, you can alter a Maxijet to increase the flow in the tank quite a bit. I was told how to do this, and finally decided to try it out. It worked!
Using a hacksaw, I cut off the jet off the impellar cover.

Fang, my clown goby, has been evicted from my 280g reef. It spent the last two days eating one of my new MACNA frags that Zenya had given to me. Watching it kill a perfectly healthy SPS coral is just sickening. Fang is now in Casper's tank, where it can perch on the zoanthids.
All the images from MACNA have been edited and sorted, and are now available online. FYI, there are over 13 megs in images, and another 9 megs in video.
Everything has been spread out over several pages, so even dial-up should be okay.
I'm off to MACNA in Washington DC for the next few days. I hope to come home with lots of great pictures. :)

Maze or Brain
After using Phosbuster Pro probably about 30 days ago, I'm still seeing cyano bacteria in my reef tank. I decided to go ahead and dose the tank with ChemiClean to erradicate this stuff so the corals don't risk getting smothered. I waited patiently but it isn't going away quickly enough.
During treatment, the skimmer is turned off for 48 hours. Time to make another 55g for a water change. The label states to change 20
