Got a new coral today :)
The Rose BTA looks good sometimes and at other times it looks near death. I updated that webpage today. If you've wondered how badly they can look, this is the page to see. :( Two 10g water changes were done within 24 hours to help clean up the water.
I did water tests today, and my Alkalinity is low on both tanks, due to the lack of B-Ionic. Additives were dosed to both tanks, so the numbers are actually much better (pH and Alk).
A new coral was added to the 55g reef. An alveopora, which is in the Goniopora family. It has such unique polyp structure! A picture will be added to soon.
The first SPS coral I bought almost two years ago is finally completely gone. It did well for a very long time, but then branch by branch, it bleached completely. A couple of months ago, I took all the living branches from the main colony, and mounted them in a clam shell. For weeks, they did just fine, growing into a mass, but finally the rest of it died. It was a very colorful coral for the time I had it. Here's the final shot.
